This year CNB will be giving one $2,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. Our deadline is going to be May 8th. 

If you are a senior enllisting in the military - this is a scholarship just for you!

I am writing you today to let you know of an opportunity for your
seniors who plan to attend a college in Texas.  

I am the Chairman of a committee in Gregg County called Area Go Texan.  We are affiliated with
the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR).  We do different things
throughout the year to raise money locally.  Meeting these criteria, the
HLSR awards 1 student in Gregg County with a $20,000 dollar scholarship.
  

The kids do not have to be in AG or FFA to apply for scholarship.  They
simply must be going to a college in Texas and be a graduating senior
from a high school in Gregg County, score at least a 950 on SAT or 19 on
ACT, and be ranked in the top 1/3 of their class.

With the monies raised throughout the year we also give a smaller
scholarship to deserving seniors with the same criteria.  In the summer
of 2023, we awarded a senior from every high school in Gregg Co. with a
$2,500 scholarship.  

Our local scholarship amount varies from year to
year depending on how much we raised with our community’s support.   

We will close out our scholarship 0n May 15th.  I have attached a copy of the local
scholarship.
