Greater East Texas College Night

While this year’s Greater East Texas College Night looks very different in the virtual world, it will actually provide students access to many more colleges and universities than previous years. TACRAO’s partnership with GoToCollegeFairs has built a virtual platform that is hosting over 300 virtual “booths” for colleges and universities all over the nation. These booths contain videos, quick links, and downloadable material for each college/university.

Students will also have the ability to start live chats with college representatives. Below you will find the link to register for/access this platform.Links will be available on the GHS Counselor’s Senior Class of 2021 Webpage. TACRAO College Fair Registration

Although our specific college fair is scheduled for Monday, November 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., this virtual platform can be accessed at any time, night or day. Keep in mind, though, that college representatives are typically only available during designated hours for live chats. Registration is already open, and I am including reference material below from GoToCollegeFairs to help explain the registration process for students and counselors.

It was a great classroom time to visit with y’all back on September 30th. Y’all had some great questions, wonderful interaction, and I believe some pretty great plans for your future. I am so happy to be a part of your senior year.

College Acceptances & Scholarship Reporting

In my classroom presentation I asked for each senior to provide me a copy of his or her letter of acceptance to college. I need this for the GHS annual reporting but also because I am in the process of creating a Senior Acceptance Wall of Honor. It will be something totally new this year to celebrate the places you will go after high school.

Let’s get those in as you get them! You can email to me at humphreysb@gladewaterisd.com or bring a copy by and give to me.

Later on, as colleges start their Financial Aid Packages, bring me copies of your scholarships and awards! I want to celebrate your hard work and how it pays off for each of you.
