Head Start, Pre-K and PPCD had a very special visit from a trained therapy pony named Lightning Bug. We learned all about Lightning Bug’s job as a therapy pony and each student had the chance to meet him.
At GPS, our Head Start students have been learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly. We observed the metamorphosis from caterpillar to chrysalis and then released our butterflies last week. Our students were very excited to watch as the painted lady butterflies took their first flight.
Mrs. Lee's first grade class has been working in our school garden. They worked as a class to weed the garden and then plant their lima bean sprouts. It's beginning to look a lot like spring at GPS!
At GPS, our Pre-K students are learning all about how to be authors and illustrators. Students worked together, with the help of their teachers, to tell a story and then illustrate it.
GPS students had a special visit this week from Clifford the Big Red Dog! Clifford came to promote our book fair and get our students excited about our Camp Learn-A-Lot math & literacy night at GPS.
GPS students learned all about Texas during the month of March. 1st grade students completed Texas-themed literacy rotations where they listened to stories about Texas and created artwork too. We even had a real rodeo cowboy bring his saddle to show the students.
The Taco Supper is an annual event for GPS students and their families. We celebrate Texas history with singing, dancing, and TACOS!
