Sharon Yates has worked during her own time from home to help GISD teachers and Region VII ESC staff to get the GISD online employee training working correctly. Sharon has helped make the new online training system a success.

Scotty Allen has tutored during his lunch and conference period to work with struggling students. Scotty has also stayed after hours to help supervise students in the after-school program.

Dawn McMellon has worked with the Box Tops for Education program at Broadway Elementary School. In addition to helping manage the program, Dawn has provided treats, at her expense, for the winning classes.

Nancy Davis has spent many hours of her own time volunteering in the teacher’s workroom to help get things done at Gay Avenue Primary School. In addition, Nancy has assisted with special events and covered classes for teachers during meetings.

Jamie Cook has spent many hours of her own time helping reinstate the National Junior Honor Society at Gladewater Middle School. Jamie worked diligently to organize a memorable induction ceremony that was enjoyed by students and parents.

Patricia Fry has spent many hours of her own time after school to tutor students needing additional assistance in math. Patricia’s dedication demonstrates her passion and devotion for each student’s achievement.

Hayley Hawkins has worked long hours to make the Box Tops for Education program a big success at Gladewater Middle School. Hayley has spent her own time organizing and managing the program for GMS.

Cathy Smith has given her own time after school to supervise Gladewater High School students as they paint a mural in the elementary school cafeteria. Cathy has encouraged these students to volunteer to serve their community.
